Course Overview
The Introduction Course is a three-day, hands-on training programme designed for beginners, decorators, plasterers, and creatives entering the world of luxury decorative finishes.
Hosted at our purpose-built Wakefield academy, the course focuses on material understanding, surface preparation, and core application techniques using authentic Novacolor products. By the end of the course, you’ll have the confidence to create beautiful finishes and progress into specialist training.
You’ll be guided by experienced instructors and Novacolor brand ambassadors with international teaching and real-world installation experience.

A practical introduction to the core skills, materials, and techniques used in Venetian plaster and decorative surface design.
- Novacolor Product Fundamentals: Explore Novacolor’s mineral plasters, decorative coatings, and specialist systems.
- Layering & Blending Techniques: Learn how to build depth, tone, and movement through controlled application.
- Smooth, Matte & Polished Finishes: Create refined wall finishes suitable for modern and luxury interiors.
